SKY is the limit of Newcastle’s development

One of Newcastle’s largest and most iconic residential developments throughout the city’s recent revitalization is now complete.

The second stage of SKY Residences, consisting of 73 luxury apartments, has officially received its Certificate of Occupancy (OC) and successful strata registration.

The nine-story building is positioned next to the 19-story, 66m-tall tower, which was completed as part of the project’s opening phase in late 2021.

Managing Director Jonathan Craig said the finished product was a milestone for local developer and builder GWH.

“It was amazing to see our plans for this site come to life over the past few years,” he explained.

“SKY Residences is our largest residential project undertaken to date.

“To successfully deliver such an iconic new development to the Newcastle skyline is truly a phenomenal achievement and we are all extremely proud of it.”

Construction of Sky Residences began in October 2019, with the team persevering through some of the toughest operating conditions known in recent memory, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But, despite these challenges, they managed to keep the development on track, successfully completing the first 19-storey tower in May 2021 before obtaining its certificate of occupancy seven months later.

“All 189 apartments were sold before the project was completed, demonstrating the continued appetite for apartment living in the Newcastle market,” Mr Craig said.

Designed to allow residents to fully enjoy the downtown lifestyle that its location encourages, SKY Residences feature a range of incredible resident-only facilities including a swimming pool, gym and the rooftop SKY Lounge , a luxurious indoor/outdoor entertaining space with panoramic views. on CBD and beyond.

“As Newcastle residents, we have a deep understanding of the aspects of the lifestyle that Novocastrians want to amplify the incredible life experience this city offers,” said Mr Craig.

“The feedback from our first stage buyers has been fantastic.

“I can’t wait for Stage 2 shoppers to experience all that this iconic new destination has to offer.”

The Hunter-based company, with over 25 years of experience, is currently working on other notable projects including Newcastle’s ONE Apartments and Charlestown’s Macquarie Tower, which are due to begin construction by the end of 2022. .
