Newcastle United remain on the hunt for a left center-back, and Feyenoord star Marcos Senesi is the new name on the roster.

Eddie Howe really wants a left center-back at Newcastle. Having seen Nathan Ake thrive in Bournemouth, who can blame him?

We have now seen a slew of left-handed center-backs linked with Newcastle. Sven Botman, Nico Schlotterbeck, Lloyd Kelly, Benoit Badiashile… the list goes on.

The last name is Senesi, with Telegraaf reports that Newcastle want to bring Senesi to St James’ Park.

ELF Voetbal added to this claim, suggesting Newcastle are willing to pay € 20million (£ 17million) to sign Senesi.

However, this second report claims Senesi’s representatives have been in talks with AC Milan this week.

With Simon Kjaer injured, Milan are pushing hard for a new center-back and fighting Newcastle for the aforementioned Botman.

Senesi, 24, joined Feyenoord from San Lorenzo in 2019.

Senesi has since been a regular at Feyenoord, racking up nearly 100 appearances for the Rotterdam club.

The 6-foot-1 defender is known as the “Gladiator”, and seems destined to leave Feyenoord soon.

All is not great with Senesi though. Willem van Hanegem, legend of Feyenoord suggested that Senesi needs to show better focus to become a better defender.

Van Hanegem likes Senesi’s ability as a ball player from behind, but thinks he needs to tighten the ball.

This isn’t exactly ideal given that Newcastle need a center-back who can immediately solidify their back line.

The Eredivisie in the Premier League is also a big step forward, which means this move could be a risk for the Magpies.

Senesi has quality and potential, but Newcastle must now decide if the highs are worth the apparent lows with ace Feyenoord.
